We started as a guitar manufacturer aiming to produce guitars that everybody can play and afford. Looking back, these cornerstones mark our way from a small German guitar brand to a global corporation with distribution partners all over the world.
Hand Crafted Quality in the Spanish Tradition
The starting point of our company was the crafting of guitars in the Spanish tradition. Today we have taken traditional guitar-making to new levels, developing instruments that are tailored by listening to our customers’ requirements. The results can be found in every single instrument we make, which you helped create.
The Family Grows
But we did not stop there. Over the last 25 years, we have consistently extended our product range. Currently, our customers can choose from a wide variety of different stringed instruments like ukuleles, acoustic basses, mandolins, and banjos. We also introduced smaller sized guitars like our ¼, ½, & ¾ models to support young talents with small hands.
We are happy to have such great musicians on our artist roster. Thomas Zwisjen, Ben Woods, Javier Reyes, and Ken Taylor are among the first artists to join our family. They are using their co-designed signature instruments on every gig and every tour they play.
The Rise of the Ukulele
These small instruments with their origin on the beautiful Island of Hawaii are conquering the world. In 2008, we introduced our first ukulele line up, which has grown into a wide variety of instruments including Sopranino, Soprano, Concert, Tenor, & Baritone Ukes – covering traditional and modern designs.
Keiki® - Connecting Generations
Since 2019, affordable ukuleles with colorful and unique designs can be found within the KEIKI range. Originating from the Hawaiian word “the little one,” these instruments bring joy to young and old alike following the mantra: Music is connecting generations.
Ortega Guitars offers you all the important tools for maintaining and cleaning your beloved instruments. Furthermore, you will find inspirational implements to spice up your sound as well as useful helpers for your life as a gigging musician within our accessories line up.
Time to Make a Change
Feeling responsible for our environment we started to work on sustainable products. The first results are our Atmosphere Green guitar strings featuring 100% plant-based trebles instead of using oil-based materials. During the production process, carbon emissions are reduced by more than 50%. This is our small but important contribution to a cleaner and greener planet.
